First of many

Today I experienced first of many scared to tears moments. Anna-Kate and I were in Austin for one of many follow-up appointments at the Pediatric Cardiology of Austin "hospital". Before they start the whole ordeal they check her height and weight totally in the nude. So, I went to grab for a diaper while she was on the table and the lady doing the stuff turned around to grap a bag for the diaper and as we were doing so she rolled off of the table (about 3 1/2 feet or so) onto the basically cement floor. All I know is she was screaming and my first instinct was to pick her up and comfort her...all the while freaking out myself because my 7 month old baby just rolled off of a pretty high table (for her anyways). I could not contain myself. I was crying just as hard as she was. They probably thought I was nuts but I was really scared! The lady ran out and a couple of nurses came in and then the doctor. They made me lay her flat and hold her head still which made her scream even more because she only wanted her mommy. They doctor looked over her and said he thinks she's fine. Which was hard for me to digest because she just fell onto a cement floor. GOD IS GOOD! She has a little bump on the side of her head with a nice bruise that didn't show up until we got home this afternoon. I'm going to call her main doc tomorrow to see if he wants to check her out himself. My thought is, what does a doctor who read cardiograms know about head injuries??? Probably more than I give him credit for but it freaked me out none the less.
With all that, her follow-up for what we actually were there for came out great. Her pulmonary stenosis (
http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=1321) has actually gotten a little bit better which is great news. There are three possibilities with this diagnosis. It could get better, stay the same or get worse. Hers has been mild to begin with so it's super good news to know that it's getting even more mild. He said it's a possibility that she may grow completely out of it...which would be super awesome. So praaaay for my baby.

April's stakes

Today is the first day of April...a day where I can finally have a soda. Bri and I decided at the end of February that we would go the whole month of March without a soda. At first, the stakes were you drink a soda, you pay a dollar. After a couple of days we realized that wasn't enough to keep us from having one so we changed it-you drink a soda, you pay twenty dollars. Yeah, I wasn't going to dare tell my husband I needed twenty dollars to pay off my "soda account". That would be no bueno. So now that it's a new month it's time for new "stakes". We are agreeing to eating out only once a week. It was going to be twice a month but sometimes life gets too busy. On top of that, we are still trying to stick to not allowing ourselves to go on soda binges so we're allowed only two a week...which is a lot compared to not having any. Then, I added a more personal one for myself. I want to wake up every morning by 6:30 to give me a chance to read, pray and perfect my daily "plans" before the kiddos arrive. I find when I actually DO do that the day goes so much smoother. I just need a serious boost to allow me to start making it a HABIT so that it will be like an everyday thing for me. And if I DON'T do it, twenty bucks goes to Bri. Hopefully I won't be making her rich this month. A lot of money is at stake here. Once a week eating out (which will be a breeze for me), two sodas a week and QT every single morning....and yes, twenty bucks for each one I fail to do. EEEEEK.
Anyways, my daughter is now 7 months old!!! I can't believe how fast she's growing. She is sitting up and rolling everywhere she wants to go. It's hilarious. I LOOOOVE HER!!!

7 weird things...

Hotdog, I've been tagged. Greeeeat. Now, I must be forced to share 7 weird things about myself. This shouldn't be hard....I'm quite the weird one.

1. The same as my tagger, if I'm at your house and the toilet paper is "facing" the wrong way I'll take the liberty to fix it for you.

2. I have a specific routine for washing my daughter's bottles and I probably wouldn't allow you to wash them for me because I'm THAT picky. HAHAHA......that is, unless you are one particular person, my "twin".

3. I put ketchup on pretty much every piece of meat that goes in my mouth, seasoned or not...whatever, it's all the same to me.

4. I can't stand washing the whites...if it weren't for those stinkin' socks.

5. Me no likey the texture of pears.

6. I really don't enjoy drinking water but I make myself anyways.

7. I am both organized and messy...at the same time...don't ask me how.

Okay, well that's that. Hope you enjoyed. Now we'll see who really reads this because I'm tagging SARA WATERS.

no-no's

Anna♥Kate has mastered the art of the "no-no" motion. She doesn't really know what it means but sometimes I'm convinced she does. She shakes her head from side to side so dramatically. It's hilarious.

Intense, huh? :)

good sport

My daughter had to endure hours of picture taking yesterday. It was quite the day. First, I had to get a picture of her in the most interesting outfit I have ever seen. It's one of those that they never wear but you must get a picture in it...as if they did wear it. Anyways, it didn't turn out so bad. I think she made the outfit look quite cute. :)

Then, there was the ballerina outfit that her grandma (my mom) bought for her. At first I wasn't so sure about it but once it was on her and I shot the first picture I was convinced that it was the absolute most adorable outfit ever! (Obviously, I exaggerate a lot. But it is seriously super cute!) And she smiled so big! I couldn't help but love it. My baby was made for this. Hahaha. I'm glad she has learned to cooperate with momma's crazy camera eye. I couldn't imagine having a kid that just looks at me like I'm stupid and then continues to do what they were doing before I started harassing them with the cam. Instead, she looks right at me with those big blue eyes and shoots me the greatest smiles! Kuddos to camera baby.

Anyways, after the ballerina pictures her cousin Abigayle came over for some Valentine's pictures. Now that was interesting. I'm used to doing just Anna-Kate and not having any problems with her cooperating but when you throw in another baby things get a little tough. For one, neither of them sit up so it was hard to find a good "position" where Anna-Kate couldn't reach over and grab a bow, hair, ear, nose, etc. Second, it was just hard. If one would smile the other wouldn't. We probably took pictures for a good hour...or maybe a little more. And I spent even more time editting them and stuff. Anyways, here are a couple results from that shindig.

....well, I hope you all have a wonderful and LOVING Valentine's.
