I was looking at old video's last night and I HAD to post this video of AK laughing hysterically at my niece Madi. I think she was probably about 8 months old here.

update on dad

Thank you to those who prayed for him.

It turns out he didn't have pneumonia in his left lung. It's just severely scarred which made it appear to be pneumonia on the xray. He has staph in his blood and they found the "point of entry" that is the host site of the infection. It's behind one of his vertebrae and even on a load of medication it is still spreading. They can't go in and drain it because it's behind his spinal column. They are running tests daily to make sure the staph it hasn't reached his heart and so far it hasn't, Thank God! During all of this they also found out that he has a split disc in another vertebrae. He'll need surgery for that at some point. I think that will make his third back surgery. They put a pic line in today under his armpit so that he can receive antibiotics daily through IV. He will go in daily to receive his medication. This will go on atleast until the first of the year. He isn't out of the hospital yet but should be out by Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Thank you again for praying. I'll keep you all updated as I learn more.

need your urgent prayers

My family is in urgent need of your prayers. My (step)dad, the man who has taken care of me for almost 20 years of my life, provided my every need and loved my girls fiercely is very very ill. He has been running a high fever, feeling shortness of breath and in a lot of pain. My mom has taken him to the ER twice and both times they told him it was a pinched nerve in a dangerous location. Yesterday she took him to a different ER and it turns out he has pneumonia, staph and was just diagnosed today with congestive heart failure. On top of all of this he also has diabetes. My heart is breaking. I hate to see him so sick. He has always been a hard worker and it is very out of character for him to not suck it up and keep going...which is probably one of the reasons why he is so sick now. He keeps saying that he is dying.

Although this man is generally a great one, my main fear right now is that he could die soon without ever knowing Jesus as his Savior. So please please pray for him!

our weekend & family portraits

This weekend was great. We made a trip to Waco for my cousin's third birthday party.

Yes, my mom's youngest sister has a daughter the same age as my child :-D.

Promptly after the party my little family headed out to meet up with an old friend for her to do our first 'family of four' portraits. I was super excited! We haven't gotten our pics taken all together since I was about seven months prego with Issy. Except for the occasional, and I do mean occasional, random family pic. I think there might be a total of about two of them...somewhere. ANYWAYS, that pretty much turned out to be AMAZING! I cannot wait to see the finished product. I was sent a teaser that I'll share with you.

Ooooh my Issy, how I love her so!

(I've seen all the pics pre-edit and I'm pretty much in love. I cannot wait to share them with you all!)

After portraits, AK headed out with her Cece (my mom), my hubby headed out for some guy time and I headed out with a tired Issy & previously mentioned old friend/photographer for some early evening chatter. It was pretty much what the doctor, AKA God, ordered for the both of us. I needed that time. I wanted that time. I'm thankful for that time.

After an unspecified amount of time I was home (at my ma's) to put my girlies to bed. They were exhausted and hadn't napped a wink that day...unless you consider the 20 minute catnap Issy got in the car from point A to point B. After they were in bed I was so crazy about seeing the pics that I loaded myself up and headed over to Bri-z's house. It was a nice change to grab the car keys and head to a friend's house in my jammies with no kids in tow. Aww, the simple things in life.

I met my hubs back at the 'rent's place around 12:30 AM. We sat outside on the swing in the amazing coolness and talked about the kind of people we wanted to be. It was a sweet time and I enjoyed hanging out with my hubby although I was so close to using some sticks to keep my eyelids open.

Sunday we didn't do much as we were too exhausted. My mom took AK to play at my aunt's house (with the three year old) and then treated her to a trip to the store to buy a doctor kit (like the one three year old got at her bday party the day before) and a princess guitar. Oh brother. We headed home shortly after they got back.

Our October is full. I am loving all the travel plans. This coming weekend we will be at my MIL's house. The weekend after that we'll be back in Waco. And the first weekend in November we're going camping, tentatively.

Yay for Fall!!

And really quick, here's a shout out to Bear Wachsmann. Happy 3rd Birthday little man!

Another first for Issy

A black eye

You see, my camera has this thing for sweet little eyes.

And this sweet little girl has this thing for rolling all over the house pulling on things that she shouldn't be touching, ie: the camera strap. Yeah, it totally fell from a chair and hit her in the eye :(. Poor baby.

The same thing happened to AK back in March or something. But she didn't pull it down on herself...I had the strap around my neck and was leaning over to readjust her so I put the camera on the couch...with the strap still around my neck. Then, outta nowhere, the camera jumped off the couch and punched her right in the eye. I know I have a pic somewhere but I can't find it.

Gotta watch that sucker.

Oh how I love her!

Pumpkin patch

Over the weekend we went to Leander to hang out with the girls' Neenee. AK LOVES her Neenee. Neenee had called and said there was this pumpkin patch she wanted to take the girls to so we packed up and headed her way. There were a ton of pumpkins and AK enjoyed it. There were also two bouncy houses but I didn't get ANY good pics of that. I was feeling cruddy so I didn't feel like working at it. HA! I did get a few decent pumpkin pics though.

Issy was being such a little cutie! That girl smiles all the time.

AK picked out Isabelle's first baby pumpkin of her little life. It was so precious.

The day after the pumpkin patch adventure Neenee took AK on a little train ride that I wasn't there for so sadly there are NO PICTURES :( of that. Next time you better believe I'll be there with my camera. That girl loves trains. And airplanes, and helicopters, and buses, and Mack trucks, and race cars. Gotta love my girl! She makes me smile.

Please pray

Well friends, it is with a very heavy heart that I come to you today. I have a sweet friend who NEEDS your prayers. Jessica has a little boy named Cameron. He turned one on August 26th. He has been going for tons and tons of tests to figure out why he's not developmentally growing, why his head isn't growing and why he's not meeting normal milestones. A sad situation. After many many opinions it seems they have reached a diagnosis, yesterday. Leukodystrophy. Fatal. No cure or treatment. His doctor is running more tests to see which type he has, as there are 34 different ones. He suspects Metachromatic Leukodystrophy or MLD.

I know by myself I can do nothing to help this family but I do know that with an army of prayer warriors we can do a lot. This family needs a miracle. This family needs peace as they walk this very difficult journey ahead of them. If you feel led please commit to praying for this family. If you feel FURTHER led please spread the word about this precious baby boy's condition. You can follow their story here. Grab his button, blog about it, PRAY. Please do something.

They need us. I cannot even begin to imagine the road ahead.

Thanks friends.

Happy Fall Y'all

Yay for a change in seasons. I love fall! Cooler weather and prettier colors. Not that Texas really has a fall or anything but I love the "warmness" of browns, oranges, reds and such. I also love scenting my house up with the smell of delicious fall-like smells, you know, with candles. YUM! Oh fall, how I love you!

I don't, however, love that my girls and I have been sick for going on three weeks now. It started out with both girls coughing and sneezing. Then Isabelle got a runny nose. Then I started coughing. And that's been the story of our lives the past three weeks. Except last Friday I inherited a stuffy head, runny nose (off and on), bad headaches and all around feeling pretty crummy. All that on TOP of my cough. Soooo, yeah, I haven't been all that much fun I don't think. I'm just ready to paaartaaaay with my fam at the park. Like I did this day...

I love me some outdoor family time when it's not miserably hot and humid.

Anyhoo, that's all we've been up to lately. Nottawholotta. Just sitting around, munchin on grass. Trying to get well.

Just Between Friends

I went to a huge children's consignment sale yesterday that hops around Texas every spring and fall. Just Between Friends. It's a great way to stock up on clothes for the season for a good price. Two weekends ago I went to the one in Waco with my mom. Then, my mother-in-law asked me to go with her to the one in Georgetown this weekend. There was no way I was going to refuse that request. We seriously hit the jackpot. I made out like bandit. It was CA-RAZY! I got AK three full set Gymboree outfits-full set meaning a long sleeved shirt and the pants, one Gymboree shirt, one Children's Place dress, one Target brand dress, a Target brand zip up jacket and a GAP set of kitty jammies :-).

For Issy I walked out with two full set Gymboree outfits, one Gymboree shirt, two full set Carter's outfits and one Carter's 'little sis' three piece jammie set. Foreals, that's crazy. All that for $65! I'm not sure if you're following me here but three of those Gymboree outfits alone would've probably been that much had I bought them brand new. I also got AK a pair of brown Stride Rite shoes for $3!!! Wowzers.

Okay cool weather. You come stay now :-D. Pleeeease.

EIGHT months old :(

A sweet little girl turns 8 months old today-at 4:14 pm.

I know baby girl, it's so sad isn't it?!

How is it, that in only FOUR months, my BABY is going to be ONE?? Anyone gotta answer for this madness?

Isabelle Grace, Bizzy, Issybelle, Gracie, Bug, ISAbeeellleeee-

As you can see, darling child, you have many many endearing names. We all love to call you something different. I call you Isabelle Grace when I'm trying to get your attention, Bizzy when we're being playful and Gracie when you're in "trouble". AK calls you Issybelle and ISAbeeellle with a southern twang...in which Daddy has picked up and calls you as well. What can we say, we LOVE you!!!

At 8 months old, you are approximately 19 lbs of baby goodness. You turn heads no matter where we are and you land us a good extra five minutes in any store due to your cuteness. People just HAVE to get up close and personal. And most times a little too close for momma's comfort.

You only have two teeth but are teething like CRAZY.

You are still nursing regularly and eat baby food very inconsistently. You rarely finish a whole jar in one sitting. You may not put away the baby food but you put away the Gerber Puffs and MumMums like nobodies business.

You get up on your knees and rock back and forth but mainly get where you want to go by rolling there. It's so cute :-).

You go to bed at 8 PM and are usually awake by 7 or 8. You take a morning nap at 10:30, and another nap around 3 or 4.

I've been letting you cry the past week or so when it's nap or bedtime and you've actually been doing okay with that. I nurse you and then lay you down in your own bed (because you fell off our bed the other day). Sometimes you cry for 20 minutes and sometimes it's just 2. Either way I think you like this method better because you roll over on your tummy and pass out. It's how you like to sleep now.

Every single day when Daddy walks in the door you shoot him the BIGGEST grin ever. It's so sweet.

You are such a content little girl. Lately your favorite thing to do is sit on the floor surrounded by toys. You could just sit for an hour straight-happy as can be.

You love bath time with your big sister. You like that you are in your big girl seat now and can sit up like her.

You finally have your own lovey. It's a fuzzy little blanket thing with a bunny head attached to the top. When we're laying down and you're nursing you usually always have it's ears in your little hands and you rub them between your finger and thumb or rub it on your eye. It's so precious.

You are growing so fast Isabelle Grace. When I look at you I can't believe it...you're really not eight months old are you?? Nooooo.

I love you so much little girl. Thank you for being such an amazing addition to our family. You belong right here with us. Nowhere else. I LOVE YOU!

Momma
