her whole hand to put food in her mouth and when she nearly fails at getting it completely in she slides her hand up and uses her wrist to push it the rest of the way in. It's so cute. I also love how she is completely fascinated with doors. She gets a kick out of making her way to one and opening and closing it a million times. I think it excites her to see herself making things happen. She enjoys chewing on the bill of her daddy's hat, seeing how loud she can squeal at the most inappropriate times, "typing" on the computer, messing up what I just fix (or clean), playing with the latch on the dog crate, being outside, taking baths and so much more. I find great joy in actually knowing my daughter. I find nothing more sweet than being with her.

my little lady
Today I was watching Anna♥Kate as she was eating her little snacks and was thinking how she has really turned into her own little person. I love how she uses
her whole hand to put food in her mouth and when she nearly fails at getting it completely in she slides her hand up and uses her wrist to push it the rest of the way in. It's so cute. time for an update
It's been a while since I last updated.
Anna-Kate is doing very well. The fall caused no lasting injuries, praise God. Since then, she has hit her head about a handful more times. I guess it comes with the expanded independence of every child. They think they can conquer the world. I love it though. I am so proud of every new thing she is learning to do. Consistent rolling over seemed like it took a lifetime to master but one night she just got it down. It was amazing to watch the look on her face when she realized that she can do things herself. Sitting up was another great milestone to watch. Everything looked so different from this new found angle and you could see the joy in her eyes. Now she's pretty much crawling (only to things she really wants of course). She isn't exactly cruising around the house but she's getting more mobile every day. It's not a "up on the hands and knees" kind of crawl but more like a frog...without the hopping. It's too cute, really. When she's in the zone, on the way to capture mommy's phone or camera or something else she's not supposed to be playing with, she does this little "hah" noise all the way to it. It's really funny. Like a, "hah, look at me go" kind of hah. It cracks me up. I LOVE MY BABY. She is the most wonderful gift E V E R !!!
I celebrated my first Mother's Day this year. It was so fun. We went to church and then to lunch at Chili's. I love going out to eat with my little family. Then we came home and I insisted on mowing the grass. When the outside of my house looks nice it makes me feel sooo good inside. So, oddly enough, mowing the grass is quite refreshing for me...especially when I don't even break a sweat (great weather). Oh, and my mother's day gift was Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 (which is a video editor). So I totally feel like I hit the jackpot on that one. YAY.

First of many
Today I experienced first of many scared to tears moments. Anna-Kate and I were in Austin for one of many follow-up appointments at the Pediatric Cardiology of Austin "hospital". Before they start the whole ordeal they check her height and weight totally in the nude. So, I went to grab for a diaper while she was on the table and the lady doing the stuff turned around to grap a bag for the diaper and as we were doing so she rolled off of the table (about 3 1/2 feet or so) onto the basically cement floor. All I know is she was screaming and my first instinct was to pick her up and comfort her...all the while freaking out myself because my 7 month old baby just rolled off of a pretty high table (for her anyways). I could not contain myself. I was crying just as hard as she was. They probably thought I was nuts but I was really scared! The lady ran out and a couple of nurses came in and then the doctor. They made me lay her flat and hold her head still which made her scream even more because she only wanted her mommy. They doctor looked over her and said he thinks she's fine. Which was hard for me to digest because she just fell onto a cement floor. GOD IS GOOD! She has a little bump on the side of her head with a nice bruise that didn't show up until we got home this afternoon. I'm going to call her main doc tomorrow to see if he wants to check her out himself. My thought is, what does a doctor who read cardiograms know about head injuries??? Probably more than I give him credit for but it freaked me out none the less.
With all that, her follow-up for what we actually were there for came out great. Her pulmonary stenosis (http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=1321) has actually gotten a little bit better which is great news. There are three possibilities with this diagnosis. It could get better, stay the same or get worse. Hers has been mild to begin with so it's super good news to know that it's getting even more mild. He said it's a possibility that she may grow completely out of it...which would be super awesome. So praaaay for my baby.

April's stakes
Today is the first day of April...a day where I can finally have a soda. Bri and I decided at the end of February that we would go the whole month of March without a soda. At first, the stakes were you drink a soda, you pay a dollar. After a couple of days we realized that wasn't enough to keep us from having one so we changed it-you drink a soda, you pay twenty dollars. Yeah, I wasn't going to dare tell my husband I needed twenty dollars to pay off my "soda account". That would be no bueno. So now that it's a new month it's time for new "stakes". We are agreeing to eating out only once a week. It was going to be twice a month but sometimes life gets too busy. On top of that, we are still trying to stick to not allowing ourselves to go on soda binges so we're allowed only two a week...which is a lot compared to not having any. Then, I added a more personal one for myself. I want to wake up every morning by 6:30 to give me a chance to read, pray and perfect my daily "plans" before the kiddos arrive. I find when I actually DO do that the day goes so much smoother. I just need a serious boost to allow me to start making it a HABIT so that it will be like an everyday thing for me. And if I DON'T do it, twenty bucks goes to Bri. Hopefully I won't be making her rich this month. A lot of money is at stake here. Once a week eating out (which will be a breeze for me), two sodas a week and QT every single morning....and yes, twenty bucks for each one I fail to do. EEEEEK.
Anyways, my daughter is now 7 months old!!! I can't believe how fast she's growing. She is sitting up and rolling everywhere she wants to go. It's hilarious. I LOOOOVE HER!!!
