lonesome dove boredom

So here I am, a Sunday night, sitting at the coffee table in the living room watching Lonesome Dove with my husband. Well, I’m more like listening to it. Ooookay, I’m hearing it and not much more than that. I’m sure it’s a very interesting series but I’m just not in the mood for it.

We actually got home today from Waco BEFORE AK’s bedtime. The past couple of times we’ve been getting back a little late and she’s either sleeping when we get here or totally zombied out watching a Brainy Baby, Praise Baby or Veggie Tales video. Here she is last Sunday on our way home.

It was between 10 or 11pm and she was beyond tired. Poor thing, she could hardly hold her head up. That was also the weekend that I totally “dropped the ball” and forgot her lovey! I’ll tell you, that was rough! I even went to Wal-Mart and bought her a makeshift one but she wouldn’t be fooled.

This weekend we stayed with the Wachsmanns. One of our main planned expeditions of the weekend was to take bluebonnet pictures of the tots. Well, that didn’t happen due to unforeseen circumstances with the vehicle. SAD! Too bad the car didn’t know just how hard we worked to get three carseats in the back of a camry...in the dark. Hopefully we will find another time to get it done before the bonnets disappear.

Although we didn’t get pretty flowery pics we did get some fun ones of AK outside, walking around, hardly concerned with our intentions to get some GOOD pictures…you know, of a pretty smile or something. I guess it comes with the age. They all of a sudden become camera Nazi’s and refuse to cooperate. Oh the joys.

So, between chasing her around trying to get some good shots and making sure she didn’t fall in the dry creek, fall off the bridge, get in an ant bed or fall in a hole (like her Aunt Bri did) I think she (Bri) did a pretty good job. Here are some of my fave:
She took the pics and I did the “editing”.

This last one is one of my faves but I do love the one with her following the kitty.

Later that night we had quite a few friends over for a fun cook out/game night. Never a dull moment around those parts. Anna~Kate only had a 45 minute nap that day and refused to go to sleep night. I walked towards her door to see Bri walking out with one snot nosed, teary eyed kid. It was pathetic. She stayed up with everyone and walked around doing her own thing. At one point she was behind the couch with her lovey laying in the dog bed. FUNNY!

Well, the hubs is asking my if I’m “watching” this and I feel bad that I’m actually not, so I’m out.

hahaha that is funny! I always feel bad if I am on the computer SUPPOSED to be doing something with my hubby and I am not! hehehe.

Wonderful weekend. I did hear that it is supposed to freeze tonight! I am hoping not because I don't want the bluebonnets to die off either!!!
