love imagination

Anna-Kate is 2 years, 8 months and 2 days old and I must say that this exact age has been one of my favorites yet.

Her newest thing is pretending. She has pretended to be swimming while playing at McDonald's, she has pretended that her little bike is a motorcycle (I have a wild one on my hands, you gals), she has pretended to be a frog, catepillar and a dog. It's the cutest thing EVER and I'm LOVING it! I feel like I'm getting a great glimpse into her little mind when she's pretending to do and be all of these things. It definitely puts a huge grin on my face.

Another thing she has recently started doing is telling her Daddy about her day. Obviously, it's not in complete sentences yet but lastnight I called him while he was at work, while I was putting her to bed, so she could talk to him for a minute because she wasn't feeling good. Their conversation went something like this:

AK: "went doctor"

Daddy: "you went to the doctor?" (all enthusiastic about it)

AK: "yeah.....I skeered"

Daddy: "aw, you were scared"

AK: "yeah...cried"

Daddy: "oooh, you cried? I'm sorry."

It was so precious. And while I'm talking about her conversation with her Daddy I have to say that he is such a GREAT Daddy to her. I love to just sit and watch the two of them interact with eachother. Sometimes I think she has a bond with her Daddy that I'm not sure I'll ever have with her and that's okay because I'm not her Daddy :-). But my goodness, they are so adorable together.
