Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day!!!

My hubby had to leave for work at 5 PM on Sunday afternoon so I spent my mother's day with my mom and girls.

My mom came around 10:30 AM and we headed to breakfast. The place we wanted to eat, Kerbey Lane Cafe, was PACKED so was moseyed our way across the parking lot to Cheddar's. We were a bit nervous about eating there because AK likes to spend the whole time hanging out at the fish tank but we were super lucky enough to get a table RIGHT BESIDE IT so put her in the seat facing the fish and she didn't move one time. It was amazing and we enjoyed a mighty peaceful lunch.

Let me back up really quick, when AK woke up that morning I had noticed what looked to be some bug bites on her upper thighs and lower abdomen. I stripped her floor of all toys and vacuumed like crazy.

Okay, back the our day. After lunch I noticed that her "bug bites" were now spreading. Both upper thighs had a full blown rash that was spreading to her arms, knees and a few more on her abdomen. They seriously started out looking like a bug bite-round with a whelp, itchy and RED but as soon as that calmed down it just looked like a circle rash thingy. It was weird.

So, I did what any mother would do, we headed to the park for some playtime with Grandma. Anna-Kate LOVED having her "Cece" there to play with her. It was so cute.

After about 30 minutes of playing I started noticing some new spots. I asked my mom what she thinks we should do and she said we should probably take her to the ER...it was now spreading to her face. SO, I called my mother-in-law and asked her opinion and she said the same thing. So to the ER we went. Of course, I was mega stressed because I knew how she'd react to seeing doctors and being touched. She absolutely HATES it. I mean REALLY HATES IT! We left with the diagnosis of "dermatisis" AND cellulitis (which is an infection of the skin caused by a cut or bug bite--in her case, a mosquito bite) on her foot. She said she had to give her an antibiotic for the cellulitis otherwise it will spread up her leg and cause fever. Nice. So on our way we went with prescription ordered and a dose of benadryl already given.

see how her foot is all red around the old bite...that's cellulitis.

We came home and hung out with my MIL, BIL and hubby until he had to leave for work--which was only an hour after we got home :(. AK crashed on the couch and slept for about an hour and a half and I snuggled with Isabelle soon after that for my own nap while my mom headed back home.

It was a pretty good and eventful day. I loved hanging out with my Momma and kiddos.

Now, I'll go ahead and tell you the rest of what's going on with her "dermatitis".

So, she woke up yesterday morning with the rash from Sunday faded into a pinky/purpley color and then a new rash that was darker red on top of the old one. This time it had spread all the way down her upper thighs to her knees and had made it's way to the back of her thighs. POOR BABY! She also had a couple of new spots on her sides and THEN a mosquito bite she has on her shin started looking like the one she had on her foot (same leg mind you). So to the pediatrician we went. She diagnosed her with hives and says all kids will get it atleast once at some point in their lives but if she continues to get it then we'll have an allergy test done. She sent us home with a prescription to help with that AND then said she also has cellulitis in her leg where the other mosquito bite is. Talk about luck. Gee wiz. Good thing she was already on something for that before it spread to her shin. So yeah, glad all that is being taken care of.

When we got home my hubs was just waking up for the day. He was off yesterday so he finally got to treat me for Mother's Day. First, that morning (Monday) I woke up to one of my favorite candies, that I enjoyed for breakfast, and a note that said, "One of three gifts". Once he got up I was greeted with a book called "Revitalize Your Spiritual Life" with a note that said, "Two of three gifts". Then I got a new journal with a note that said a lot of things but the one thing that stood out to me most was his commitment to give me a couple of hours a week away from the kids so that I can find myself again. Teehee. Now that's a husband who knows what his wife needs...for the sake of herself, our kids and him. I'm super excited about this and can't wait to start.

So once again, Happy Belated Mother's Day!!!
