12 weeks

Yesterday marked 12 weeks for me. I am so thankful to finally be at this point and glad to be entering my second trimester soon. It's amazing to see how it's gone from a poppy seed to this. What a cute little lime :).

This week, "the most dramatic development occurs" with reflexes. It squirms when poked or prodded but I shouldn't feel it for a couple more weeks atleast. And it actually LOOKS like a little human which is SO exciting!

I go to the doctor tomorrow, Tuesday, at 2 pm for the first screen. I'll get another sonogram and blood work done. I'm super excited about this because Sean AND AK are going to go with me. YAY! Daddy will finally get to see his 2nd baby and AK will get to see her little sib...even though she won't have a clue about what's going on. I can't wait for her to finally start understanding.

Speaking of AK and understanding, she has actually been playing with her baby dolls recently and it's so precious to watch. They have to have a blanket, just as she does with her "uh-vee", and she tries to feed them the little bottle and everything. ADORABLE. She even has this little mini graco stroller that is the perfect size for her and her babies. She stuffs them ALL in there and pushes them around the house. It's so cute. The other day, before she got the stroller, she was pushing them around in her shopping cart. HAHA! Gotta love the girl. I'm so glad for all this to be happening...instead of her pushing cars and trucks down the hallway walls. :-) I mean, I love that she loves cars but I wanted her to love baby dolls too .

Oh, about me, I've been feeling pretty good lately. Much better. I'm still tired, of course, but I feel like that's even getting better. I'm excited to have energy and a mood free day again. I've been doing a lot more with AK during the day, even though it's like deathly hot outside. I've just been trying to get out earlier in the day or in the evening OR indoors. This week she gets to go to the doctor with mom AND to see a movie. That's exciting! ANYWAYS, I'm feeling fine. Every little tummy pain makes me nervous but things are good.

a whoopsy in the poolsy

I sucked it up today and let AK play outside for a while. It was overcast so it wasn't TOO hot but it was way humid and I was still sweating like it was 104 out. Ugh. I hate it. I can't wait for fall...even though around here that doesn't mean that much except tempts under 100 degrees. I'll be so happy.

I finally got a picture of her smiling! My kid smiles ALL THE TIME and she is a super happy kid but she's so darn fast that I can never get her smiling. And it doesn't help that when she sees the camera she darts in the opposite direction and probably with the biggest grin on her face.

She finally got a new bathing suit. It was time. She was wearing one from last year when she turned one. It fit but not comfortably. I found this one on the Wal-Mart website for like $6 or $7 and the shipping was only $.97! I was super happy about that. My favorite part of the suit is the little stitched in flower on the side. See below.

How cute is that!

She had lots of fun jumping and splashing the water everywhere. She was just happy to be outside I think.

Then it happened, she pooped in her bathing suit! It was not nice and I was not happy. I mean, afterall, it's my fault because I didn't have a diaper on her but I figured since she was in her own pool that it wouldn't matter all that much. Well, it does matter, especially when they have to go #2 and you have to remove the bathing suit to see what you're working with. Good thing it wasn't like last time. And yes, I did say last time. This happened about a week ago and it was diarrhea. Yeah, you'd think I would've learn my lesson but I figured it couldn't happen to me twice in a row, right?! Good thing this time it was pretty manageable.

And here is my princess blowing some sweet sweet sugars. Mmm, I love 'em.

And this is just hilarious!

Anniversary dinner

Yesterday hubby and I celebrated our third year anniversary. He works nights so he slept most of the day but I woke up to some roses, a card, a root beer, some chocolate and peanut M&M's. He's a man after my heart :-). It was so sweet. Then for dinner we went to The Oasis. It was sooo nice. I loved it!

We didn't enjoy our dinner on the deck because it was still pretty toasty outside but we got the perfect spot on the second floor right by the huge window overlooking the deck/water. It was really nice. We enjoyed queso :-) and chicken fajitas for two. UH-MAZING!!! I even enjoyed them for breakfast this morning as well. YUM!

After we ate we made our way to the third level deck and sat there for about two hours watching the sun decorate the sky. It was pretty.

I was amazed at the enormity of the houses located around this restaurant. RIDICULOUS I say. Seriously, millions of dollars folks. Something I just cannot fathom. There was this flyer at the restaurant advertising the area and such saying, "homes starting at $800,000 and lots starting at $150,000"! Seriously?! I'd like to see what an $800,000 home in that area looks like if that's just the baseline price. Probably like a little garage apartment or something.

Before we got to the restaurant we drove around the curvy road just to get a closer glance at the homes there. I couldn't help but notice a sign on the side of the road that said, "Caution: falling rocks". They should've also had a sign that said, "Caution: possible falling house!" Geez man.

After dinner we came home to change and then went to the 10 o'clock showing of Transformers 2. It was hard to follow but I can't deny it action packed that's for sure. It had more profanity than I remember the first one having but other than that, it was nice to be out past our bedtime! Amazing how young I felt. :-)

handful of different things

Today is a nice overcast kind of day here in Central Texas. I was determined to get my child to the park so she could enjoy some outdoor fun. We haven't gone to the park in quite some time because the heat is SO BRUTAL! And when I say brutal I mean brutal. Like burn your skin within the first 10 minutes kind of brutal. NOT enjoyable what-so-ever. Soooo, we hardly make it outdoors these days unless it involves nice cold water. BUT TODAY, my sweet darling got to go to an awesome park surrounded by trees and lots of fun things to do. She got to "wing" and "side" and throw little pebbles into the air. She got to see her Granny who came from work during a break for a quick visit. She had so much fun! By the end of it all, she was sweaty, thirsty and tired...just how I like it :-).

Yesterday, Daddy and I took her to a Burger King, which we never do, because we saw that it had this gigantic indoor playscape and figured she'd enjoy something other than McDonald's for a change. And enjoy it she did. What we didn't know before we took her is that the steps are so far apart that she can't get up to the top by herself. Ggrrrr. So, we took turns climbing our adult butts up the BK playscape. Good thing we were the only ones there. She was having a hay 'ol time. The slide, which is MASSIVE, was her favorite part. The kid has no fear. I enjoy this about her but sometimes it makes me a nervous wreck. LOL. She is so outgoing and...brave, I guess. I don't know the words to describe her. The good thing is though that she can usually sense when she shouldn't risk something she's contemplating on doing. If she feels she could get hurt then she'll find something ELSE risky to do. Atta girl! Needless to say, I climbed that darn playscape one too many times....more like three too many times.

I heard this thing on the radio today about Regal Cinemas doing a Free Family Film Festival where they are showing G and PG rated movies this summer on certain days for FREE! We soo wanted to take AK to the dollar movie the other night but there were not any age appropriate movies showing. So when I heard this today I was SUPER excited about it because I know she'd love it! You can select a state and see if there are any cinemas participating in your area. Luckily for us there's one participating about 15 minutes from our house. YAY!

Tomorrow is our anniversary! My MIL is going to watch AK and Sean and I are going to dinner at The Oasis. I'm so excited because I've never been there and it's supposed to be super nice...not to mention rooooomaaaaantic :-). We're also considering going to see Transformers 2 afterwards. Now that, not so romantic. Haha. We have to keep the balance somewhere! Plus, I've wanted to see Transformers 2 since it came out anyways so that'll be fun in our book. YAHOOOOOOO!

Well, I hope you enjoy your day! Find some fun things to do with your kiddos :-).

11 weeks

Since I turn a new week on Sundays I think I'm going to make this day a pregnancy and baby update from now on. :-) I haven't talked about it much because really, there's not much to talk about, but I WANT to! So, from now on, Sundays are dedicated to the alien growing in my uterus. Niiiice ;-).

Today I am 11 weeks! It's hard to believe that I'm nearly done with my third month, as the books would say. In my head I'm about to be three months but in the book it says I'm IN my third month. AHHH, it's so confusing. Haha. It's also hard to believe that I'm a quarter of the way through my pregnancy. I mean, I still have three quarters to go, but having one over with is nice. LOL.

I'm not nearly as gross feeling as I have been. I think I'm finally clearing that stage. I never got morning sickness, not even with AK, but I've definitely had my fair share of nauseating moments. I still do have some food aversions and such, like eggs. I want them but they smell gross and then when I force myself to eat them they taste gross. What's up with that! And cool ranch doritos, my old fave, are no longer faves anymore. :-( I guess the baby doesn't like them all that much. But it does like any and all bread products, chicken, pineapple and mexican food. I can go for all those things but it makes meal making quite unbearable at times. I HAVE to mix it up for my family so a lot of times I make something for Sean and then end up eating something completely different. Oh well.

My mood has been good lately. In the beginning I was quite irritable, not beyond normal though I guess, just more frequent. And when I'm hot, you better watch out. I think that's what trigures it all. The next pregnancy, we HAVE to be out of Texas! I started taking vitamin B12 a few months before I got pregnant because my mood swings were off the charts, especially around that time of month, but since I started taking it I haven't had any melt downs AT ALL (and I was having atleast one big every month)! And before I found out I was prego I upped it to B50-time release. I asked the doctor if I could continue taking it and he said sure. I told him good thing because when I don't have it for a long period of time I'm ready to commit murder and he laughed and I told him I wasn't joking. LOL. And it's the honest truth folks. Good thing vitamin B exists in the world. It's a natural mood stabilizer and it coats your nerve endings...or something like that. Works wonders I tell you. So, if you're having some issues with PMS or mood swings, this stuff will do it. AND it's cheap. You can get you a bottle at Wal-Mart for like $4-$5.

ANYWAYS, I got wwwaaaaayyy off there. Here is what the little (I need a unique name. Wanna help?) thing looked like in size back at 4 weeks:

And here's what it looks like now:

Isn't that amazing! And crazy. And mind blowing. What a cute little fig. HEY, maybe that's what I should call it. Fig! Any takers?
