Today is a nice overcast kind of day here in Central Texas. I was determined to get my child to the park so she could enjoy some outdoor fun. We haven't gone to the park in quite some time because the heat is SO BRUTAL! And when I say brutal I mean brutal. Like burn your skin within the first 10 minutes kind of brutal. NOT enjoyable what-so-ever. Soooo, we hardly make it outdoors these days unless it involves nice cold water. BUT TODAY, my sweet darling got to go to an awesome park surrounded by trees and lots of fun things to do. She got to "wing" and "side" and throw little pebbles into the air. She got to see her Granny who came from work during a break for a quick visit. She had so much fun! By the end of it all, she was sweaty, thirsty and tired...just how I like it :-).
Yesterday, Daddy and I took her to a Burger King, which we never do, because we saw that it had this gigantic indoor playscape and figured she'd enjoy something other than McDonald's for a change. And enjoy it she did. What we didn't know before we took her is that the steps are so far apart that she can't get up to the top by herself. Ggrrrr. So, we took turns climbing our adult butts up the BK playscape. Good thing we were the only ones there. She was having a hay 'ol time. The slide, which is MASSIVE, was her favorite part. The kid has no fear. I enjoy this about her but sometimes it makes me a nervous wreck. LOL. She is so outgoing and...brave, I guess. I don't know the words to describe her. The good thing is though that she can usually sense when she shouldn't risk something she's contemplating on doing. If she feels she could get hurt then she'll find something ELSE risky to do. Atta girl! Needless to say, I climbed that darn playscape one too many times....more like three too many times.
I heard this thing on the radio today about Regal Cinemas doing a Free Family Film Festival where they are showing G and PG rated movies this summer on certain days for FREE! We soo wanted to take AK to the dollar movie the other night but there were not any age appropriate movies showing. So when I heard this today I was SUPER excited about it because I know she'd love it! You can select a state and see if there are any cinemas participating in your area. Luckily for us there's one participating about 15 minutes from our house. YAY!
Tomorrow is our anniversary! My MIL is going to watch AK and Sean and I are going to dinner at The Oasis. I'm so excited because I've never been there and it's supposed to be super nice...not to mention rooooomaaaaantic :-). We're also considering going to see Transformers 2 afterwards. Now that, not so romantic. Haha. We have to keep the balance somewhere! Plus, I've wanted to see Transformers 2 since it came out anyways so that'll be fun in our book. YAHOOOOOOO!
Well, I hope you enjoy your day! Find some fun things to do with your kiddos :-).
