Yesterday afternoon we went to a birthday party at the YMCA. When we arrived, there were hardly any cars in the parking lot except for a fire truck, two cop cars and the people who were there for the party. We had no idea what was going on. We walked up to the door and it was locked. Then a girl, not even out of high school, comes to the door and asks if we were with the party. We told her yes and then she told us to come in and sit in this little sitting area. We did and then asked her what was going on and she said that they had to shut the place down for an investigation. After a little probing she told us that an elderly man died in the sauna!!! Isn't that awful! Obviously we were not going to be able to start the party there because it was completely shut down for any type of business, scheduled or not. They were just trying to figure out where we were going to go from there. That Y called another Y and had the party moved there. So we loaded up and drove across town to another facility. When we were leaving, there was still a fire truck and two cop cars there but another cop car had pulled up and a crime scene unit car. They said they didn't suspect foul play but it was procedure.
Isn't that so sad?! We couldn't stop thinking about how we were at this facility, were a man still lay dead in the sauna, and his family probably still had no clue that anything terrible had happened....and we did. I can't even imagine.
I read today that he was from San Angelo. Please pray for this family if you think about it.
