four years ago today

Four years ago today my hubby and I officially started dating. We spent New Year's Eve and New Year's together at his house with a group of friends. Friends. Football. Quesadillas. And lots of fun.

I remember on NYE Sean and I jumped on his bed to bring in the new year. We obviously liked each other ;-).

On January 2, 2006 he asked me out on our first date. We made our own fishing poles out of bamboo sticks (so we wouldn't be doing it illegally-hehe) and went fishing. After a pretty unsuccessful fishing attempt he took me to Taco Bueno. If you know me well or knew me back then you'd know that Taco Bueno was the ultimate food place for me. I LOVED it! He obviously knew that as well and being the sweet man that he is he gave up his commitment to Taco Bell and took me to Bueno. So romantic huh?! Well, that's how I like it :-D.

After that we were pretty much inseparable. Well, except for the fact that he went to school and worked and I worked full-time, night shift, at a rehabilitation center. Apart from that, we were together all the time. If we weren't together I was coming home to a note or I'd wake up to a sweet letter and a rose on my car.

We did lots of fun things when we were dating.

Our first Valentine's day together he stole me away from lifegroup (a church thing) and took me on my second plane ride ever at sunset! Then he took me back to his house where he had candles and rose pedals everywhere. He turned on a song and asked me to dance. Then we ran back to lifegroup :-). He was so sweet. He wanted Valentine's Day to be special but knew we were committed to being at lifegroup so he volunteered us to go pick up some more drinks for the party we were having...which was the longest store run in history probably.

We took many day trips to random places. Austin. Temple. Dallas. Victoria.

He graduated college in May and asked me to marry him on June 17th. On July 21st we got married (eloped). After THAT, on September 3rd, we had a wedding to celebrate with our family and some closer friends. After the celebration wedding we took off to Colorado.

Once back from Colorado, life took off. In October we got our first dog and two months later, in December, we found out we were going to be expecting our first baby. WHOA!

So, from January 2006-December 2006 we started dating, got married, eloped, got married again (HAHAHA), got a dog and found out we were going to be parents. WOW. When I think about it now it all seems insane BUT I wouldn't have it any other way.
