TRYING out some patience

I'll start this post out by saying that I did not just sit here and eat a third of a bag of cheeto puffs while sipping on a caffeine free Dr.Pepper. I also didn't feed my daughter a string cheese, dried cranberries and cheetos for her lunch.

If you know me well you'll know that I did just do those things and I'll make up for it later.

Now, onto other things. I go to the doctor tomorrow at 9:30. I've been dreading these weekly appointments ever since I got pregnant but I'll say that since this past weekend I've actually been looking forward to going. This means the end is near. I went and bought a pack of cute knee socks JUST for these appointments...and for delivery. I figured that enough of my body was being exposed that knee socks would lessen my anxiety...and it has. Seriously if you prefer SOME coverage and modesty knee socks are the way to go. Plus, having some cute pairs will boost your confidence a little. HAHAHA!

I must say, I am so thankful to have the two year old potty trained. It's definitely a huge relief. Obviously, naptime and bedtime are still diapered BUT all other times are spent running around in Dora panties. The next hurdle will be overcoming my anxiety about taking her AND newbie somewhere together. I can just see the look on my face when AK tells me she has to potty and I have to lug them BOTH to the potty. It's probably not going to be near as difficult as it is right now to lug myself and her. I keep forgetting that this belly and this pain won't be here once the baby is. So surely it won't be that bad.

Speaking of the two year old, she's been doing so well with her learning (not that she's ever done bad). It was more important to me for her to be able to recognize all of her ABC's than for her to know how to sing the song and she successfully knows every single letter of the alphabet now. The song will come later I'm sure. Next I'm going to start teaching her the sounds of each letter. THAT will be interesting. She also knows every number from 1-10 but can't count in order quite yet. She knows her basic colors and I get a kick out of her saying, "white truck" when we're out and about. Or "red truck". Or "black truck". Whatever color the vehicle is she can usually tell me. She knows basic shapes-square, triangle, circle, diamond, star and oval. I'm so proud of her and it's amazing to see all the things her little mind can hold onto. Actually, I'm sure their minds are far larger than ours and we just don't know it.

Oh, and here's something super funny (atleast to us anyways). When AK gets in trouble for something and gets a little thump on the hand or swat on the hiney she will come to the parent who didn't do it and say, "Oooowww, Mommmmmaaa, Daaaaddaaa huuuuuurt!" OR "Ooooowww Daaaaddaaaa, Mommmmmmaaaa huuuuuurt!". It's never really pitiful which is why it's funny. She's just learning to tattle I guess. We never indulge her tattling by focusing on it. We ask what she did, talk about how she shouldn't have done that and then we move on with our day.

Well, I guess I'll go finish unpacking from our Kansas trip now and put our clean laundry away. I'm running a bit behind.

Knee socks = HILARIOUS!

I was sooo nervous to take both of the girls out by myself that first time. It was actually a lot easier to me than still being pregnant because I never picked Autumn up when I was pregnant. I was afraid to! Wearing one babe while the other one is on your hip is a lot easier than it looks!

I know it is such a huge relief to not having to buy diapers for two! We had Autumn fully potty trained last December and I can certainly tell ya that it is a lot cheaper to buy panties than diapers or pullups!

It is so great that she is leaning so much. It is just amazing how much they learn is such a short period of time!

Enjoy this last month or so with AK! You will have two cute little girlies before you know it!
