trying a new sched

Like how I abbreved sched in my title? I love abbreves. LOL.

After a rough night with the little girl I was fiiiiinally convinced that I really need to stop slacking on her schedule and get something going. I've been allowing her to wake up late, stay up alllll day with no nap and go to bed early to spare me a bedtime battle. But then, sometimes she wakes up off and on throughout the night which is NOT cool. I'm already up enough waddling to the potty and then trying to get comfortable again for the next hour or so. Some nights she crashes at 6:30 or 7 and doesn't budge until the next morning and some nights I'm not so lucky. The last thing I need is to be waking up with TWO kids. No thanks.

Hubby has been on a normal schedule for a couple of weeks now. Who knows how long this will actually last but it's been nice because we have both been asleep by 11 pm and a lot of times before 11. Soooo, because of that, I set my alarm this morning for 7:30 and 8. Wanna guess what time I rolled out of bed? 8:10. Not bad. That's why I set it for 30 minutes before I actually WANTED to get up so by the time the second alarm goes off there is no chance I'd be able to go back to sleep. Anyways, I slooooowly made my way up (I am reeeeally reeeeeeeeally hurting today) and out of bed. I waddled to the kitchen, put a waffle in the toaster and waddled back to wake up AK. She almost wouldn't have any of it. I had to keep turning her over so I could get her panties and pants on. Between this and that she'd roll over, ball up and try to go back to sleep. Once I got to her shirt she was up and saying, "eat". Good thing cause I was already on top of it :-). I took her to our bed to sit with Daddy while I finished up her breakfast. And thus the day began. It's about 11:15 and I'm about to make her some lunch and then attempt a nap around noon-thirty...one for myself as well :-).

I know that it'll probably take a week or longer to actually make this feel like a routine but I'm going to try. I've always enjoyed my mornings to sleep in. She has ALWAYS been good at sleeping until like 9...or later. But I think the time has come where we both need to give that up. ESPECIALLY with little sister coming SOON! I'm really going to NEED her to nap and I'm going to NEED her to go to bed like an angel. Oh please let this work. Eventually I'll consider starting our mornings around 7. For now, 8 is all I can consider, atleast until I'm not in my current physical condition. HAHA!

I am not a fan of early mornings. Things were so much better when I used to work because we would all be up and out the door by 7:45am. Now you can't pull me or Autumn out of bed before 8:30-9am! I have become lazy staying at home!

I hope that you are able to find some energy/determination deep within you, HA! OR in a very short amount time, I am thinking that you might not have a choice once Isabelle arrives! Good luck. I am sure it will all be fine!
