three years-need ideas!

On July 21st, my hubby and I will celebrate three long years of marriage. I say long because it feels like we've been married forever! I'm not sure if that's good or bad ;-).

Our first year of marriage was not at all what I had "dreamed" it to be. It wasn't a smooth transition into the perfect marriage. You know, I guess some find this time in their life easy and some just don't... and we didn't. Of course, it was pure bliss at first but once laundry, dinner and all the marital responsibilities kicked in we were having a pretty difficult time.We had no clue about being married. We both come from divorced parents whom are all remarried. Most of their second marriages have been successful thus far-all minus one. ANYWAYS, we just had noooo clue. For our first anniversary we didn't get to have a nice vacation like a lot of couples do. I was due to deliver AK at any time.

Our second year of marriage ran a little smoother. We welcomed our first beautiful and spunky baby girl into the world just a month and 5 days after our first anniversary and our lives have never been the same! She has been the main joy in our eyes when it seems nothing else is going right. We have enjoyed our second year of marriage as a family of three. For our second anniversary we didn't do anything yet again because we weren't at the point of leaving her overnight yet. I know, she was almost one!...and guess what, she's almost two and we still haven't left her overnight ;-). We did enjoy a nice dinner though.

Our third year has been rather difficult with the move and all. We've gone through some things recently that I would rather not have been through BUT it has made our marriage that much stronger. And I'm so serious when I say that. The Lord has been in the middle of it all because I KNOW that without Him things would not be good. He has given me so much grace and peace over the past week or two that I can't help but be thankful. He has changed our hearts and I'd have to say that right now, in our marriage, we are better off than we've ever been. I am soooo very blessed and thankful. THIS YEAR for our anniversary I want to do something FUN with my husband! We WILL be leaving AK overnight and we will be getting out of dodge even if that means we'll be sleeping in a tent somewhere!...we still haven't figured out what to do. I've been researching some things online but everything seems to be a little bit too pricey for our pocket book. I looked into staying on the River Walk in San Antonio BUT the rooms there are a bit too much for our budget. Then I thought it would be super fun to go down to Kemah in/near Houston and I found somewhere we could possibly stay BUT the drive is close to four hours. AHHH. Dallas just doesn't seem like fun because we've gone there a lot and we live near Austin. What shall we do?? Anyone have any ideas??? I'd love to hear!!!

Year four, here we come! I KNOW this year is going to be the best yet.

We just got back from a short trip to Corpus Christi and drove to Mustang Island just past Padre Island. It was SO much fun. Not sure what you were wanting to do, but we loved it. We saved money by using Priceline to get out hotel at $50 a night. Hope it comes together, for ya'll!

I am sure that whatever you two end up doing it will be wonderful regardless. YAY for year four and becoming a family of four! That is so exciting.
