meet baby #2

Here you have it folks, the newest member to our little family.

I went to the doctor today for my first sonogram and check up. The baby is measuring RIGHT ON TIME at 9 weeks and 2 days. YAY! The heart rate was 175 and it looks perfect as far as the eye could see. Due date is February 7, 2010.

I was sooo nervous when I first layed back on the table, scared that there wouldn't be anything in there. She put the little wand on my tummy and said, "yep, there's certainly something in there!" Whew. Then she proceeded to press with enormous amount of pressure that caused me pain for a little while. Grrrr.

After that I met with the doctor and he's super duper nice. I really liked him. I didn't however like that he brought a student in for my exam. No bueno Mr. Doctor. I think enough people have seen enough seeing as how this is my second kiddo. Anyways, I had to have an annual while I was there since I was due for one back in October. Whoops.

From the check-up I marched right on over for some blood work. Ooooh the joys. That part stunk too but I'd so prefer blood work over a doctor, nurse and student checking out my goods.

I go back in 3 weeks for ANOTHER sono and more blood work to test for down syndrome. Either way will not affect our plans to carry, deliver and raise this little miracle. I just wanted another sono :-). I scheduled it later in the day so Sean will for sure be making it to this one!

Sean couldn't be there today because he didn't get home from work until around 8AM and the appointment was at 10:20. He so planned on going but I felt so bad for him that I just let him sleep and had my mom speeding down I-35 to make it for the appointment. She never got to see any of AK's so this was super fun for her. She was so excited. The lady called me back for my sono just as my mom was pulling onto the road so she waited for about 5 mins to give my mom time to rush up. I was so thankful for that.

After the appointment we came home, got AK from her other Granny and took her to McD's. It was fun and now my mom is on her way home, AK is napping and I'm considering doing the same. I just had to post this pic of my nuggey.
